On the afternoon of May 26, 2020, Professor Xin Xiangyang, vice president, second-level researcher, and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Marxism, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was invited to launch a speech on the theme of “The Reason Why the Socialist System with Chinese Characteristics is Good” for the teachers and students of the School of Marxism, Henan University through the tencent conference platform, which was presided over by Zhang Xiangdong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice Dean of the School of Marxism. More than 110 members from the leadership team, teachers and students at our school participated in the lecture actively.

At the beginning of the speech, Professor Xin Xiangyang analyzed the scientific connotation of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics systematically. He thought, to understand and analyze the socialist system in China, we should start from the aspects of the fundamental system, basic system, and important system. This is also the basic premise for understanding why the socialist system with Chinese characteristics is "good". Then Professor Xin combed and explained the theoretical and practical basis of the superiority of the socialist system from the dimensions of policy background, theoretical logic and internal cause with his profound theoretical knowledge, solid academic foundation and broad vision comprehensively and systematically. He pointed out that the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics has profound historical origins and a broad practical basis, and discussed its superiority from five aspects, namely: the socialist system in China is a system guided by Marxism; it is a relay system for major events; a system that has won the support of the people widely; a system that concentrates public opinion on major events; a system that can control the market economy.

At the end of the presentation, Dean Zhang Xiangdong expressed his gratitude to Professor Xin Xiangyang on behalf of the college. This lecture is the commencement of the college's online academic exchanges. Under the current case of epidemic prevention and control, the college will regularly carry out such academic activities to further motivate the college's scientific research atmosphere.
