On the morning of December 24th, Xu Guangchun, the director of the Central Marxist Theoretical Research and Construction Engineering Advisory Committee, former secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and dean of the Institute of Marxism of Henan University, gave a special report entitled "Learning the Spirit of the Central Marxist Engineering Conference" in Conference Room 249 of the JinMing Campus of Henan University. Zhang Baoming, deputy secretary of the party committee of the school, attended the report meeting and delivered a speech. All the members of the leadership team of the Marxist Academy and representatives of the teachers and students of the school listened to the report, which was presided over by Zhang Xiangdong, Executive Dean of the Marxist Academy.

Firstly, Xu Guangchun focused on conveying the spirit of Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, at the conference on Marxist theoretical research and construction engineering, including five aspects:

First, we should deeply study and understand the important discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the twelve aspects of adhering to and developing Marxism well. Second, we should deeply grasp the new situation, new tasks and new missions to Marxist research and construction projects, putting forward higher requirements. Third, to deepen Marxist theoretical research and construction projects in the new era, it is a fundamental task to learn to publicize and study Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. To begin with, we should make great efforts to promote soul-building and educate people, so that Xi Jinping's new era of socialist ideas with Chinese characteristics can be put into teaching materials, into the classroom and into the mind; Next, we should work hard to study and explain Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era; What’s more, we should make great efforts to promote the popularization of theory, combine the practice of fighting poverty alleviation, building a well-off society in an all-round way and the major strategic achievements made in the fight against the outbreak of new crown pneumonia, so as to realize popularization; At last, we should make great efforts in external publicity and recommendation to make it go to the world. Fourth, deepen the study of theoretical and practical problems. We should increase the research on major basic theories and major practical problems, increase the research on new stages of development, new development concepts and new development patterns, and increase the research on major social thoughts. Fifth, we should speed up the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics. We will speed up the implementation of the central government's measures to build philosophy and social sciences, lead the construction of the discipline system, optimize the development of philosophy and social sciences, and promote Marxist theoretical disciplines as the basis of the whole discipline system. We will promote the construction of the teaching material system, lead the construction of the discourse system and the evaluation system, and gather and train more Marxist talents.

Xu Guangchun conveyed the spirit of Comrade Wang Xiaohui, Executive Vice Minister of the Central Propaganda Department, at the meeting. First, we should focus on the main tasks, promote learning and publicity of Xi Jinping's new era of socialist ideas with Chinese characteristics, go deep and go true; Second, we should focus on the overall situation of the work of the Party and the state, creating a strong atmosphere for the party's century-long construction; Third, we should focus on consolidating the guiding position of Marxism and playing a good active battle in the ideological field; Fourth, we should focus on the high-quality development of Marxist engineering and gain new developments in the positive innovation.

Finally, Xu Guangchun talked about a few experiences: First, the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to Marx's theoretical research and construction projects, holding a number of special meetings to arrange deployment; The second one is to focus. The focus of Marxist theoretical research and construction projects in the new era is to implement, publicize and study Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era; Third, the research and propaganda work of Marxist theory presents a new weather, and the importance of Marxist theoretical disciplines is more prominent. Fourth, we will continue to advance and deepen the study of Marxist theory, producing more high-quality results.

Zhang Xiangdong said that we must adhere to Marxism, develop Marxism and arm ourselves with the latest theoretical achievements of Marxism in China. The next step for teachers and students will be to earnestly study and publicize Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and earnestly implement the spirit of the Central Marxist Theoretical Research and Construction Engineering Work Conference.
